Botulinum toxin

Botulinum toxin is used to temporarily paralyse the muscles in the application area. It smoothens the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Botulinum toxin can also be used to help treat gummy smiles as it relaxes the muscles of the upper lip and prevents it from rising too much when you smile. It can also assist in the treatment of bruxism and teeth grinding.

 

Dermal fillers

Also known as facial fillers, the process usually involves injecting a ‘gel-like’ substance into the skin. The active ingredient is hyaluronic, a sugar that is found naturally in our bodies. It contributes to the volume and ‘plumpness’ of the skin. When applied to an area, it fills the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
